Sonrisa East

Sonrisa East is no garden variety astrologer.

Sonrisa East is a mystic on a mission She’s been diving deeply into the profound art of Sight since the tender age of 11. With the wise guidance of her maternal grandmother, Sonrisa is fiercely dedicated to opening people’s minds to “see through New Eyes” as they embark on a personal quest for Highest and Best.

“The heavens are here for guidance, not for excuses.”

Immersed in the depths of Western astrology under the mentorship of trailblazers Lenore Canter and Eleanor Bach, Sonrisa spent years scouring the globe hunting for a some sort of unified field theory of astrology. Under the guidance of Vedic astrologer Chakrapani Ullal, her celestial perspective was widened to a whole new framework. And then, partially remembering her grandmother’s teaching and partially fueled by the writings of the Irish poet John O’Donohue, Sonrisa’s vision was vividly ignited by the mysticism of the ancient Celts. Nurtured further by time spent traveling across Scotland, Sonrisa’s work today is heavily influenced by the transformative cycles of the Celtic Wheel of the Year and the natural human cycle of birth, death and re-birth.

Sonrisa’s pursuit is unapologetically centered on elevating a soul’s journey to the Highest & Best while asserting the essential Duty of an Astrologer. Her work transcends the trivial realm of “fortune-telling” or simplistic interpretations of Venus in Aries or Moon in Taurus, aiming instead to reveal the profound philosophical and spiritual gifts that astrology offers to an often oblivious world.

Sonrisa lives on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico surrounded by family and her four grandchildren, the Gemini twins.

Sonrisa East’s first book, ELEVEN LIFETIMES AN ASTROLOGER: Secrets Lessons You Will Never Learn from Astrology Books, was released in 2018 as a revision of a previous pamphlet entitled The Art & Duty of a Seer. That book was followed in 2019 by the release of her groundbreaking encyclopedia WHERE ALPHA MEETS OMEGA: Mythology of the Constellations, Space Exploration & Astrology. In that book Sonrisa East traces origins of the Zodiac and mythology of the constellations, including an in-depth look at the 13th Zodiac sign that was removed by a Pope. She compares mythological lore of the constellations to recent NASA data of the same star systems gained from modern space exploration. Later in the same year she released REMEMBERING PAST LIVES: A Guide to the Vaguely Familiar as a practical guide accessible by anyone.
